DAVAO City- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XI is preparing for the second round of region-wide family assessment through the Listahanan project or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR).
“We are planning to assess 793,770 households by September this year,” stated Listahanan’s Field Coordinator Elvie Bahinting. To ensure the successful implementation of the region-wide assessment, DSWD-XI will be hiring 2448 field workers composed of 1,654 enumerators, 331 area supervisors, 67 area coordinators, 330 encoders and 66 verifiers.
“Initial interviews in Davao Region will begin on July 17”, Bahinting added. Successful applicants will be given trainings to ensure that they are ready for the tasks and the quality of their output will not be compromised.
During the first round of assessment conducted in 2009, Listahanan assessed 547,775 households and identified 272,933 as poor. This data has been the basis for identifying beneficiaries of anti-poverty programs such as the Pantawid Pamilya program and Social Pension fund.
Listahanan is a information management system that makes available to government and non-government organizations a database of poor families that will serve as their reference in identifying beneficiaries of social protection programs and services. It aims to establish an objective and transparent targeting system that will reduce the inclusion of non-poor and exclusion of poor in anti-poverty programs and services.
